ChuteDrop
Terms of service
Last updated 8 September 2026
These terms cover the ChuteDrop website, the iPhone and iPad apps, and the transfer links they produce. Using ChuteDrop means you accept them.
1. The service
ChuteDrop uploads files you choose to cloud storage and gives you a share link. The link expires after a period set by your plan, and the files are then deleted. ChuteDrop is a delivery tool, not a backup service — keep your own copy of anything you care about.
2. Your account
You need an account to send files, and you must give an accurate email address or use Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 13.
3. Plans, billing and cancellation
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude taxes where those are added at checkout.
- Bought in the app. Apple bills you, and the subscription is managed and cancelled through your App Store subscription settings. Apple's refund policy applies.
- Bought on the web. Dodo Payments is the merchant of record and bills you. Manage or cancel from Settings, which opens their billing portal.
Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan runs to the end of the period you have already paid for. Your entitlement is attached to your ChuteDrop account, so a plan bought on one platform works on the other. The 100 GB top-up is a one-off purchase that adds storage for 30 days and does not renew.
4. Storage limits
Each plan has a live-storage allowance and a per-transfer cap. Live storage counts the bytes currently held; expired or revoked transfers free their space automatically. We may refuse a transfer that would exceed either limit.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use ChuteDrop to store, send or link to:
- material you have no right to distribute, including copyrighted work you do not own or have licence to share;
- child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexualises a minor;
- malware, phishing kits, credential dumps, or anything designed to damage or gain unauthorised access to systems;
- content that harasses, threatens or incites violence against a person or group;
- material whose distribution is illegal where you or the recipient are.
You also may not resell the service, attempt to defeat quotas or rate limits, or use ChuteDrop as general-purpose or archival storage by continuously re-uploading the same content to dodge expiry.
6. Enforcement
We may revoke a link, remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms, and we will do so without notice where the content is clearly illegal or is causing harm. Report abuse through our abuse and DMCA page.
7. Your content
Your files stay yours. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service: to store, transmit and deliver your files to the people you send the link to, and to make the technical copies that requires. That licence ends when the content is deleted.
8. Availability
We aim to keep ChuteDrop running but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we retire the service entirely we will give account holders reasonable notice so transfers in flight can be completed.
9. Disclaimer and liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, ChuteDrop is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, lost profit or lost business. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which deletes your transfers and files immediately. We may terminate an account for a material breach of these terms. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription billed by Apple — cancel that in your App Store subscription settings.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email or in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use ChuteDrop after that means you accept them.
